WELCOME MESSAGE

Welcome Message from the ECIM 2026 Conference Presidents

Jerusalem is not only the city of holiness, but also the city of “whole-ness”, as suggested by its Biblical name “Shalem”, which means “whole” in Hebrew. The name also contains reference to the Hebrew greeting of “peace”, “shalom”; and “sacred” in Arabic. It is with these words that we wish to welcome you to join us in a unique and special venue for the 2026 European Society for Integrative Medicine Annual Conference in Jerusalem. Shalom!!!

We are thrilled to invite you to experience the synergy between ancient traditions and modern science, in the search for new discoveries in clinical practice and research; new approaches to initiatives in medical education; and exciting opportunities for entrepreneurship in Integrative Medicine (IM). The theme of the conference has been inspired by this energy and vision: “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants: Integration of ancient practices and scientific breakthroughs“, highlighting the integration of traditional wisdom with modern innovations and scientific advances.

The Jerusalem Conference is the product of a long-term and fruitful collaboration between the Israeli Society for Complementary Medicine and European Society for Integrative Medicine, in partnership with leading IM international societies across Europe and North America.  We will be providing an opportunity for the best and brightest of IM practitioners, researchers and educators, to share a unique blend of spices and scents, with hands-on workshops; updates on the latest developments in IM research; and important perspectives of the “bigger picture” of IM across the globe.  A broad spectrum of modalities and topics will be examined, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, touch therapies and more; across a wide range of clinical settings, including pediatrics, oncology and surgery, as well as advances in incorporating IM in medical and healthcare education.

The conference will also serve as a platform for international Special Interest Groups, who will present the culmination of their work on key IM themes, such as integration in delivery rooms; non-pharmacological management of pain; IM in oncology and palliative care; integrative psychiatry; and more.

Jerusalem is home to two medical centers: Shaare Zedek and Hadassah, which are among the country’s largest tertiary care settings. Both have extensive IM programs, in both ambulatory and in-patient settings. Conference participants will be able to visit these two sites to experience first-hand the implementation of real-time IM in Israel.

Please join us in Jerusalem, for a unique experience in learning and sharing of knowledge. We will celebrate our past accomplishments; hear about exciting new discoveries and research; while making sure to give you ample opportunity for meeting old friends, making new ones and creating new networks and potential collaborations.

Looking forward to seeing you in Jerusalem in September 2026!
